Drayton says the R-word

Whoa.

"We have to make a stronger investment and smarter picks in the draft,” McLane said. “You’ve got to invest in young talent. To do that, you need patience, and that’s hard for me. From my business training, you want results very quickly. That doesn’t always happen in baseball. We spend $4 million to $6 million in the draft every year, but we haven’t always made good decisions.”

Then...

We need to bring the age of our pitching staff down. We’ve got two in Round Rock (Bud Norris and Yorman Bazardo) right now that they say could be very effective next year. We got some potentially great ones in the draft last year.”

Does he know Astros fans are disgusted?

“They should be. I want them to care. When I bought the Astros, there weren’t high expectations. Today, there’s high expectations. That’s what we want.”

Buried deep in the story, we see an odd quote about Lance...
“Lance is a great person and as fine a talent as there is in baseball. I’m not sure we get his focus all the time. He’s a fun person. He likes to talk and carry on. I also don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for being a great player.”

I hate it when The Media takes one quote and makes a whole story about it. There are a lot of things to be excited about from what Run-DMc said here. That said, what do you think (about the whole thing, and then about Lance's focus)?
