13th round pick Jake Goebbert signed with the Astros, and will be assigned to Tri-City.
After negotiating with the team during the past several days, a source close to the situation said Goebbert signed for $100,000.
The decision means Goebbert will forego his senior season at Northwestern, but the source indicated that the contract also includes an additional $50,000 that Goebbert can use should he choose to complete his college degree.
