The Astros released relief pitcher Erik Stiller yesterday. Stiller posted a 4.81 ERA/1.19 WHIP in 24.1IP, with 24H/13ER, 17K:5BB in 15 appearances. Six of those earned runs had come in July (3ER on July 1; 3ER on July 16).
-We also learn that Rafael Valenzuela has been assigned to Greeneville from the GCL Astros.

Tranzactionz!
A couple of more transactions for you.
As Farmstros noted, Renzo Tello was called up to Lexington from Tri-City in place of Grant Hogue, who was placed on the bereavement list. Best wishes to Hogue and his family.
We also see a few shuffles from Corpus:
Jordan Lyles placed on the temporarily inactive list (Futures Game), Erik Stiller activated from the temporarily inactive list, and Jared Wells reinstated from the 7-Day DL.
To clear room, the Hooks released LHP Nelson Payano. Payano was signed back in April and posted a 1-1 record in 26 games (29.1IP), with a 5.83 ERA/1.84 WHIP, and 36K:23BB.

Round Rock (29-35)
Despite getting two runs in the top of the 9th inning, the Express lost 5-4 at Iowa. Shane Loux threw 5IP, 7H/4ER, 4K:2BB while Brad Thompson and Roy Corcoran threw 3IP, 5H/1ER, 2K:2BB in relief. With Johnson as the tying run on first following a walk, Kata and Locke didn't get it out of the infield to end the game. Bogusevic - batting leadoff - was 2x5 with an RBI while Navarro was 2x3 with 3RBI on the day.

Corpus Christi (30-32)
Corpus jumped out to a 2-0 lead, and then gave up the next eight runs for an 8-2 loss. Tyler Lumsden took his 3rd loss of the season, allowing 8H/4ER, 0K:4BB in 5IP (9 walks in his last 11IP). Erik Stiller was the only pitcher to do a job, striking out three and allowing just two hits (no runs) in 3IP. Nelson Payano and T.J. Burton gave up four runs in the final inning. Jhon Florentino had your only multi-hit game (2x4), while Clemens had your only extra-base hit - a double. Fixler and Lumsden hisself had the RBIs.

Lancaster did all their scoring in the first inning. Inland Empire got all their runs in the 9th inning. Bad news: Inland Empire won 2-1. Shane Wolf threw 7IP, 2H/0ER, 4K:1BB in a stellar performance, and Mike Modica gave up three hits and two walks in 1.1IP to take his first blown save and second loss. Lee Cruz - hitting .357 in his short stint with Lancaster - had two of the JetHawks' six hits and the lone RBI of the game.

And the Legends blew a 9th inning lead to lose to Lakewood 5-3. Robby Donovan threw 6IP, 5H/2R (0ER), 8K:4BB while Jose Trinidad tossed two scoreless IP. Kirk Clark gave up two hits (both homers) and a walk for three runs in the bottom of the ninth, recording one out. Rene Garcia was 3x3 with an RBI and Our Boy Aaron Bray was 2x3, R, BB, RBI. Kody Hinze was 0x4 with 2Ks, and is hitting .231 (9x39) in his last ten games, with 14K:7BB.
Man of the Match: Aaron Bray, who is hitting .432 (16x37) in his last ten games, with 3K:4BB.

Jeremy Johnson allowed 5H/3ER, 0K:1BB in 4IP to drop his record to 0-3. Erik Stiller made his debut, giving up a hit and a walk in 2IP. Edwin Walker allowed three walks and an unearned run in 1IP, and Danny Meszaros put up ones (1IP, 1H/1ER, 1K:1BB). The five hits came from five different Hooks, with Jon Gaston getting the only XBH - a triple.

Albert Cartwright was 3x4 with a double and two triples, while Freddy Parejo, Mark Ori, and Raul Conteras each had two hits/two RBI. Barry Butera committed his first two errors of the season.

The Legends only scored one unearned run, probably because they felt bad. The pitching staff was atrocious. Juan Minaya gave up 3H/3ER, 3K:4BB in 3IP, but the bullpen of Luis Cruz, Arcenio Leon, Colton Pitkin, and Jose Trinidad gave up 6H/6ER, 4K:6BB in 4.1IP. To be fair, Trinidad threw 1.2IP, 1H/0ER, 0K:1BB. The Legends were 3x16 w/RISP, and Jose Altuve (3x5) and Jake Goebbert (2x4) had your multi-hit games. Our boy Aaron Bray was 1x4.

This would lead me to believe that the Astros had signed pitcher Erik Stiller, who has pitched the last two seasons for Cleveland's Double-A team in Akron. Ohio.com is reporting that the Indians had released Stiller five days ago. Stiller was 1-0 in eight appearances for the Aeros, striking out 12 and walking three. He had a 3.86 ERA and an even 1.00 WHIP.
He has a career 3.58 ERA / 1.17 WHIP in 291.2IP, with a 2.79 K:BB ratio.
