MUCH APPRECIATED
I second that notion. Or emotion. Great, now that song is stuck in my head. I love this site. In fact, it's how I just learned that the Astros signed Carlos Pena. I think I just felt the earth move. Not really. Great, now THAT song is stuck in my head.
2013 Astros FanFest
I attended the Astros FanFest this past weekend and have to say that overall the event went off pretty well and everyone there seemed to be having a great time. As is usual for this event there were definitely some hiccups along the way including Milo Hamilton and Jimmy Wynn only signing for approximately 30 minutes of the 1 hour window in which they were supposed to be signing and JR Richard not signing at all. Many fans shelled out $10 per ticket for 3 separate tickets ($30 total) to get autographs for these guys, then sat in line for 45 minutes - 1 hour only to get to the front of the line and see that these guys were no longer signing or never showed up for the signing to begin with. To their credit I did hear that the Astros were refunding fans money for the JR Richard lineup change, but I don't know if this were the case for the Milo Hamilton and Jimmy Wynn early exits.
Bo Porter rubbed several fans the wrong way before he's even had a chance to establish a fan base. He was overheard speaking to Justin Maxwell saying "I can't wait until this sh!t is over with" speaking of the FanFest event itself. A good friend of mine while getting Porter's autograph said to him "I plan to be out here for opening day and hope to see Lucas Harrell pitching." Porter's response to him was "you just worry about getting a ticket and let me worry about who is going to pitch." I found Porter's response pretty classless especially considering that most of the fans in attendance are the teams hardcore fan base and rather than saying "we'll see" or any number of other proper responses he went out of his way to belittle one of the teams biggest fans.
