June Draft - Rounds 31-35

We are getting deep into the bowels of the draft at this point, so I thought we could start running the selections together a little, whilst providing a little bit on each player.

31-916: Dexture McCall, 1B, Hillsborough Community College, Florida.

Dexture McCall was announced as a first baseman, although he is listed at third base in many websites.  He attended Middleton High School in Florida.  He is listed at 6-0, 205lbs.  He could return to college if he chooses.

He appeared in 47 games, batted .360/.455/.541.  He hit five home-runs, with 29 walks versus 20 strikeouts.

32-946: Robert Kahana, RHP, University of Kansas

Robert Kahana is a 21yo Junior from the University of Kansas, originally from Ewa Beach, Hawaii.  He is listed at 6-0, 211.  He stated in Kansas' season ending game versus Kentucky, giving up 5 runs in three innings.

This year, he threw 52.1IP, giving up 87 hits, 39 runs (28 earned), 32 strikeouts versus 24 walks in 14 starts.  His ERA was 3.05, but his WHIP was a less-robust 1.34.

33-976: Edwin Medina, OF, St Thomas University, Miami

Another originally from Puerto Rico, Edwin Medina attends St Thomas University, after playing in Des Moines (Des Moines Area Community College) in 2013, where he was named to the first team of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II All-American team in 2013.  He was a CF in Des Moines, and has also played some second base in Florida.

He is listed at 5-8, 170.  He has a mean moustache.  I mean, that is awesome!  He appeared in 52 games, batted .391/.468/.520 in 202 at bats, with 12 doubles, 2 triples and 3 home-runs.  Again, a favourable BB:K profile - 28BB versus 25K.  He also swiped 33 bags in 37 attempts.

34-1006: Joshua James, RHP, Western Oklahoma State College

Listed at 6-3, 200, originally from Hollywood, Florida.  He has a perfect game profile but it doesn't seem to have been updated since 2010.  He is currently a sophomore.

He appeared in 16 games (10 starts), with a 4-1 record, 3.21 ERA  He pitched 61.2 innings, striking out 56 and walking 25.  He allowed three home runs.

35-1036: Keegan Yuhl, RHP, Concordia University

Keegan Yuhl is listed as a 6-0, 220 Senior, originally out of Del Mar, Calfornia.  At Concordia, he went 10-4, throwing 104.2 innings, giving up 87 hits, 36 runs (30 earned), 14 walks versus 100 strikeouts.  His ERA was 2.58.

He pitched the first perfect game in Concordia University history on 31 January this year.  He was listed as an Honourable Mention in the selection of the NAIA All American team.  He has a haircut like mine (lucky guy!)

A very brief 1-pitch scouting video is here.  Not sure what everyone is excited about.  It was just a foul tip!
