With the first pick of the 12th Round of the 2014 MLB Draft (346th overall) the Astros select LF Ryan Bottger out of University of Texas-Arlington.
Bottger is a 6'0" 210lb switch-hitting junior who transferred from Rose State Junior College after the 2013 season, where he was twice named Second Team All-Conference. Back on March 31, he was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, and this season, he hit .386/.472/.588 with 7 HR and 42 RBI in 204 AB.
