Brett Wallace DFA'ed

In a surprise move (to me, anyway) the Astros designated Brett Wallace for assignment to make room for Jerome Williams on the 40-Man roster.

The Astros have ten days to trade, release, or outright Wallace to OKC.

Bo Porter said:
When it comes down to the roster construction...we have to make again the best decision for the Houston Astros today with a watchful eye on tomorrow.

In parts of four seasons with the Astros, Wallace has hit .242/.313/.391, with 318K in 1077 PAs. This is odd, since in parts of five seasons at Triple-A, Wallace posted a .308/.375/.500 line with 349K in 1607 PAs.

Also in the mix at 1B is Jesus Guzman, Chris Carter, and possibly Jon Singleton.
