Kirkland and Ellis representing the Astros

In this David Barron update on the latest regarding the CSN Houston c*u*t*r*u*c, we find that the Astros are being represented by DC-based law firm Kirkland & Ellis. So what, right?

Not so fast, my friend (puts on lawyer mascot head). Kirkland & Ellis is a heavy hitter in the world of corporate law, as they typically deal with intellectual property and corporate transactions. Among its high-profile clients, they represented United Airlines in its Chapter 11 proceedings and are currently representing BP in the litigation around the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Barron notes attorney Thomas Clare is On The Case. Want to read his Kirkland & Ellis bio?
Tom Clare is a litigation partner in the Washington, D.C. office whose practice is focused on the litigation and arbitration of complex business disputes. In addition to litigation matters, Tom has an extensive defamation practice and routinely advises corporations and prominent individuals who are the subject of false statements by the media and newsgathering torts. Tom has extensive experience in matters adverse to national print, broadcast and online media outlets — and routinely advises clients who are dealing with the media in crisis situations.

Get ready, Comcast. You 'bout to get CRANE'D.
