Bedard "unlikely to return"

In Brian McTaggart's latest "Astros ready to spend some money" article, we find that the Astros are likely going to pursue a veteran starter because "Erik Bedard is unlikely to return."

That's okay with me.

Elsewhere, among possible non-tender candidates, McTaggart has listed J.D. Martinez, Brett Wallace, and our old pal Lucas Harrell.

This will be an interesting off-season, because the players they sign will give a little insight into how the front office views the development of the prospects coming up. Or at least it will, in theory.

Welp, to wrap up what has turned into a terrible trainwreck of a post, I'm glad baseball season is over.
