Erik Bedard is, you know, tough to catch sometimes because Bedard

Jason Castro - he of the two costly passed balls last night - had an answer for just what the hell happened last night:

With Bedard, I mean, the way that he pitches I only know what's coming about half the time. In certain instances it's tough to catch back there, when he has such good movement and it's not always expected.

Well that's no answer at all. Let's try to break this down:

...The way that he pitches I only know what's coming about half the time.

I'll stop you there, Castro. Why don't you know what's coming? Are you not the catcher tasked with, you know, calling the pitches?

In certain instances

Which instances? Pitching instances?

It's tough to catch back there, when he has such good movement and it's not always expected.

So Bedard having good movement isn't always expected? That's the backhandiest compliment of a pitcher I've ever seen.
