PreStros Morning Report: June 2

Oklahoma City (31-24), tied w/Round Rock

OKC got out to an early 2-0 lead, but couldn't push anything else across the plate, losing 4-2 at Albuquerque. Ross Seaton dropped to 2-5, throwing 5.2IP, 7H/4ER, 1K:3BB; Kevin Chapman threw 1IP, 1H/0ER, 0K:2BB; Jason Stoffel threw 1.1IP, allowing nothing and striking out one.

Jonathan Villar was 2x4; Brandon Laird was 1x4 with the two-run first inning homer; Che-Hsuan Lin was 1x3 with a walk; Brett Wallace was 1x4 with a double and 3Ks.

Corpus (35-21), 3.0 up

The Bad News: Arkansas scored nine runs from the 2nd-5th innings. The Good News: Corpus got 10 runs across in the 1st inning, and withstood the Arkansas onslaught, winning 13-9. David Martinez lasted 2.1IP, 6H/7R (5ER), 1K:0BB; Jorge De Leon gave up two hits but no earned runs (but one of Martinez's runs); Matt Heidenreich got the win, throwing the final 4IP with 3H/2ER, 4K:0BB.

George Springer was 3x5 with a double, homer and 5RBI (all in the first inning). Jose Martinez was 4x5 with 2RBI and three runs scored; Erik Castro was 2x5 with a double and 2RBI; Ben Orloff (3R), Domingo Santana (HR, 2RBI), and Michael Burgess (2B) had a hit and a walk each.

Lancaster (35-21), 7.0 up

The JetHawks open up a seven-game lead in the Cal League South with a huge 16-1 beatdown of the Visalia Rawhide, taking three of the four games, and outscoring the Rawhide 53-18 in those four games. David Rollins dealt, throwing 5IP, 3H/0ER, 5K:3BB; Tyson Perez threw 4IP, 2H/1ER, 2K:1BB.

Chris Epps was 3x4 with a double and a grand slam for 6RBI on the day; MP Cokinos was 3x4 with two doubles, a homer, and 5RBI; Joe Sclafani was 2x2 with three walks and a stolen base; Brandon Meredith was 2x4 with a homer, walk, and 2RBI. Delino DeShields was 0x2 with a walk and two stolen bases.

Quad Cities (31-24), 4.0GB

The River Bandits scored three runs over the first six innings and were able to withstand two bottom of the 9th runs from Beloit, but held on for a 3-2 win. Lance McCullers dominated, allowing 2H/0ER, 6K:1BB in 5IP; Daniel Minor allowed 4H/2ER, 4K:0BB in 3.1IP but needed Cameron Lamb to get the final two outs and preserve the win.

Teoscar Hernandez was 2x4 with a double and an RBI; Jordan Scott was 2x4. Austin Elkins (2B) and Terrell Joyce had a hit and a walk each. Carlos Correa RBI) and Jon Singleton (BB) combined to go 0x7 with 2Ks.
