With the 1st pick of the 29th Round (857th overall), the Astros select 6'4" 190lb LHP Randall Fant from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville.
Fant was a 29th round pick in 2012 by the Indians and a 21st round pick in 2009 by the Red Sox. He throws a fastball, change, curve combo; all three for strikes. He's ranked #468 in this year's Baseball America top 500.
This year he was 4-1 with a 2.27 ERA and an opponent's batting average of .210.
