Wade Miller has a new job

Former Astros ace Wade Miller, who pitched for Houston from 1999-2004 and was the Opening Day starter in 2002, got himself a job as an assistant coach at Division III Alvernia University in Reading, PA. Miller pitched for Alvernia in 1995 (still holding the single-game strikeout record, with 16) before getting drafted in the 20th Round by the Astros in 1996.

Miller threw 768IP, allowing 699H/330ER for a 3.87 ERA/1.31 WHIP, for the Astros. He finished his MLB career in Boston in 2005, and Chicago in 2006-07. He joined the Blue Jays' organization in 2009, pitching six games for Triple-A Las Vegas.
