Know Your Enemy: April 9

RHP: Brandon Beachy
6'3" 215lbs

*Beachy was undrafted, and signed as a free agent with the Braves in 2008.
*Beachy just barely won the last spot in the rotation in Spring Training.
*In six career April games, Beachy has thrown 36.1IP, 26H/14ER, 36K:10BB.
*He has never faced the Astros, or anyone currently on the team.
*With RISP, Beachy has allowed a .215/.315/.393 line.
*In 658 plate appearances, Beachy has only allowed two homers when he's been ahead in the count.

*J.A. Happ is quite familiar with the Braves - having pitched against them seven times. In those seven games (six starts), he's 2-0 with a 2.09 ERA/1.09 WHIP. But he didn't face Atlanta in 2011.
*That said, Matt Diaz and Martin Prado own him. Diaz has a 1.455 OPS against Happ in 17 PAs; Prado a .985 OPS in 13 PAs.
*Brian McCann is 2x14, 3K:2BB against Happ.

I really hate the new font you're using on the blog.

*Beachy just beat out Mike Minor for the last spot in the rotation in Spring Training.
-Just wanna point out that it looks like Minor is still in the Braves rotation, though he did have an ugly first start.

Anyway, when Beachy is on his game, he will strike out ton of batters and shut them down hard. On the other hand, he rarely lasts more than 6 innings, so we may have a chance to exploit the Braves bullpen later in the game.

Fixed that about the rotation race - we'll get into mid-season form soon...

I also hate the new font. It makes reading numbers quite difficult.
