New York not all that interested in Wandy

ESPN New York's (or is it ESPNNEWYORK) Andrew Marchand has a couple of nuggets for us:

1. Wandy has "reportedly" cleared waivers.

2. The Yankees aren't all that interested.

Marchand:
the New York Yankees have no interest in him, according to a baseball official familiar with their thinking. The Yankees feel as if they have six starters for five spots right now and don't see how Rodriguez would fit into their rotation. Rodriguez, a lefty, is 9-9 with a 3.31 ERA. He also has two more years reamining on his three-year, $34 million contact.

As a Yankees fan, I'd say that he'd be no worse than Burnett. .500 pitcher, and after you adjust the ERA for coming to the American League, he'd be right around the same in that regard as well.

The big issue would be dumping AJ's contract. No idea who would take a shot at him.
