Jon Heyman says the Astros - the 29-58 Astros - might not be willing to part with Wandy:

The Astros' Wandy Rodriguez may be as good as it gets among starting pitchers on this trade market, and that's assuming Houston consents to trading him, which is no certainty. The Astros are talking to other teams, but they remain something of a wild card because they have been reluctant to sell in the past and have a new owner coming in.

Granted, it's just Heyman's speculation, and I hope Ed Wade has been working the phones since June 1. Heyman also notes that Ed Wade is probably in trouble once Crane takes over, which he fully expects to happen without issue.

Better for that to be the story than "Wandy can be had for peanuts."

I am sure Wade would like to finish what he started but he will be paid through next year no matter what and he would most likely be in line for another general managers job at some point in the future. If not then some other position would likely be open to him.
