Is this the first time you've heard of John Curtis? Me, too. So I did some digging, and Curtis was a catcher at Cal-State Fullerton from '03-'06. Other than that...

John Curtis was drafted by the White Sox in the 14th round of the 07 draft. He reached his pennical in their system at A+ Winston Salem during part of the 09 season where he hit a smoking .212.
He was released by the White Sox at the end of March. So he must have just caught on with the Astros.
He was a SAL all star last season also. Might be a decent pickup.
