I like the fact that Wandy has improved every season. I say give him his seven, hope he improves on an already good season from last year and sign him to a longer contract coming off an even better season... but that is just the optimist in me talking I guess.
The idea that the Astros and Wandy couldn't bridge a $2m gap is odd to me. Hitting the midpoint is (obviously) a difference in $1m - not a small sum if you work in any other profession than baseball. Still, at $5m or $7m, if 2010 Wandy is as good as 2009 Wandy, either is a pretty good deal.I'm fine with going to arbitration and seeing what happens in 2010.
