G61 - Astros @ Dia'nd''ck'

Brian Moehler, improbably, turned in a quality start despite trying as hard as he could to give away a 3-0 lead. Allowing two runs in the first, then bunting into a double play, then needing a Pence-Kata-Pudge relay to nail Chris Snyder at home. The Astros pulled away to win 8-3, and are now three games below .500.

Jose Valverde struck out the side in his first appearance since dancing his way to being made active.

Man of the Match: Miguel Tejada. 2 doubles, 2 RBI.

Goat of the Game: Hard to say. Now accepting nominations...

Not only are they three games under break even, they're also just four games off the lead in the NLC.

It's a long season, folks. And Valverde is back.

That settles it! Moehler gets the goat.

That's ruff goat-giving for a quality start. But I concur on that bunt double play terribleness.

Valverde threw to one hitter Saturday night as well, fyi :)

Agreed on Moehler. He looked awful. I'm glad he battled, but including the bomb that Reynolds hit 420 feet for a double, he could have easily given up 5 or 6 runs in my opinion...
