One hit for Carlos is not good. Hopefully that is Opening Series jitters.

It has to be. He's a career .290 hitter who was hitting .325 at MMP until Bronson Arroyo drilled him on his wittle finga.

Loved Kepp in there, Bourn looked better than I thought, and seeing the bottom of the lineup producing gives me some hope. Not an ideal opening to the season, but not abyssmal either. Hopefully this is just the beginning of the season/getting in a rhythm thing for Moehler and not what is to come this year. We really need him to come close to reproducing last years production to have a shot.

I must say, after Ortiz's first pitch, I laughed out of horror a bit. I have no idea if he was on call to pitch in this series or they just did a quick warmup and threw him in, but that was a bad spot for him to be in. I pass no judgement until seeing a couple of scheduled starts from him.

Hopefully if someone crashes and burns, Capellan can come in and reproduce his Spring numbers, if not, this will be a long season.

Ok, I think I went all over the place enough for now.

I think Ortiz' first pitch was just good hitting by Fontenot. Fontenot had to have known that it was Ortiz' first pitch in a very long time, and was probably just looking to get a strike in there to settle down. That, of course, didn't really happen.

Moehler had not started a game in April since 2006, so he was probably feeling some extra pressure, as well.

Hopefully it's all just jitters, but we'll find out sooner than later, I think.
