As this is a Democracy - or at least a benevolent dictatorship - Pudge Rodriguez had his Goat removed, and that Goat has been passed along to Geoff Blum. Sorry Geoff, enjoy your Goat.
That's what I was going for - the Sac Fly in the 9th to give the Astros a 3-run breather. I'm going to let it stand, but this will NOT be a regular occurrence.
I move that on nights when it is hard to identify a goat, that the title be given to a member of the press. JJO, for instance for poor coverage as of late.
Ok, how about this......did anybody watch the game on FSReds instead of FSAstros? The Reds announcers are DUUUUUMB!
After the Astros went ahead in the top of the 9th, they kept talking about how Valverde would have prior failures to the Reds on his mind when he came in to close the game. Anyone with internet access should have known Valverde was unavailable for last nights game.
So anyway, then Chris Sampson comes up to bat (which would lead anyone with a brain cell to conclude that he would be staying in the game to close out the bottom of the 9th).
What do the dummy Reds announcers say? Great decision by Coop to let Sampson bat, keeping his pinch hitters available in case the Reds tie it up - but yet Valverde would still be pitching the bottom of the 9th.
Idiots. Certainly the goats of the game. I can't stand when the Astros play on the road because I have to watch these lame broadcasters instead of our good ol' FSAstros boys.
I will go on record standing up for Marty Brennaman, who I grew up watching. He's not the same since Joe Nuxhall died, but he gets credit for this if nothing else: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky9Kso9q_Ws
As for Blum, yes he was 0-for-3, but he had a SF in the 9th. Why can't we just give it to Jason Smith on games when there's any question

I agree. I'm just happy that we have a game where we can argue over who's the goat. Hopefully there's many more of these to come.
+1 all around. It sucks when you could have a gaggle of goats and have a hard time identifying a hero other than Milo Hamilton.

Justly ruled Constable.
Not saying Geoff deserves it but Pudge did not.
Carlos did have a rough game. GIDP and misplayed a ball in the outfield.
